China expresses its preference to strengthen its relationship with the United States, although significant hurdles persist. Following a visit to Beijing, United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken concluded his trip with a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The discussions aimed to stabilize relations between the two nations amidst ongoing disputes concerning national security, economic matters, and geopolitical tensions in regions such as the Middle East, Ukraine, and Southeast Asia.
According to the state news agency Xinhua, Xi conveyed to the top US diplomat on Friday that the two major powers "should aspire to be partners rather than adversaries," emphasizing the importance of assisting each other in achieving success rather than causing harm.
